Join us for the inaugural Lavern G. Lawyer Golf Tournament, hosted by The Legacy Foundation of South Carolina, to honor the life and legacy of Lavern G. Lawyer. This special event will take place at the beautifully manicured Hilton Head Lakes Golf Club in Hardeeville, SC, on September 20, 2025.

All funds raised will benefit The Legacy Foundation of SC's mission to enrich students' educational, socio-emotional, and wellness experiences in Jasper County by addressing learning disparities, fostering safe spaces, and offering opportunities for learning and self-care beyond the traditional curriculum. We envision a community where students and families district-wide can experience long-term success through our educational and wellness programs, community initiatives, and strategic partnerships.

Your participation will directly contribute to programs such as:
* Afterschool Enrichment Program, which provides small group tutoring in partnership with local learning and community centers to support students in need of academic intervention.  
* Our new program - The SafeZone Project, which the students helped develop during tutoring sessions. The program offers teens and pre-teens a supportive space for social-emotional growth and provides a judgment-free environment to discuss topics like peer challenges, grief, and self-worth.
* The Learning Experience. These are our educational field trips within the corridor and beyond.
* Wellness Initiatives - Our goal is to provide access to resources that support a healthy lifestyle, ranging from food and nutrition, physical health and exercise, to emotional and mental well-being.
